  1. Pinki V.

easy language and quick concept book
with deep information and exercises is the best thing of this book. recommended for beginners.

  2. MATH_IN

    nice!
It is a good book for beginner, I have brought this for a semester course, so as far as i have read the theory is excellent and quite easy understand for beginner, the exercise are good and challenging if you are reading programming for the first time. though the problem is that it dose not have solutions or hint or answers to any of the exercise which is a problem for one who are buying it for self study (unless they know about some good sites like stack-exchange and others, anyway now you know) . In all its a good book for self study. but lack of hint and solution to exercise may cause some trouble.

Unique pedagogy & Maverick approach to python coding
Maverick read for all python enthusiasts. Although a lateral understanding of concept in python and coding may make reading more receptive. All in all a different approach towards python.liked it !

  4. Avinash

    Deeply engaging
I got an opportunity to attend Prof. Naveen’s lecture at IIT Bombay during SciPy 2017. This book is deeply engaging and really sets apart from the rest of books available.1) Modular approach to programming. The author directly starts with functions in the second chapter itself.2) Visual representations of what’s going under the hood.3) Important points in a text are presented in the sidenote for quick reference.4) Lot of solved examples and exercises to reinforce the understanding of the concepts5) A Chapter on debugging6) Value for moneyThough the knowledge of other programming language will help to quickly go over the text, it can still be used by novice programmer. Really enjoyed reading the bookA definite purchase.

  5. Vivek

    Not for beginners
It is a good book but first try some other book as a beginner. This can be your second to-go book.

  6. Soorya s

    A good one!
It was very useful to python for beginners. It was simple and module wised.

  7. Satyam Verma

    Confusing for beginners
The contents and knowledge is too compact to be understood easily by a total beginer with no history with computer languages. This is a book for beginners only and doesn’t cover deeper and important some concepts which should be told. I had already knew C language, so it wasn’t hard for me to go through this book. So if someone wants to learn python just by this book, you can’t because most often you’ll make half-coded program which will often throw wrong outputs
