The practical handbook for understanding and winning in the post-COVID digital age and becoming a 21st century leader.
For every enterprise and its leaders, the digital age is a roller-coaster ride with more than its fair share of thrills and spills. It presents them with great opportunities to leapfrog and grow. However, success is not easy in the Digital Age. It requires a complete overhaul of the business model and organizational design, and the mind-sets of professionals. Such a large and complex change is not easy to manage, and enterprises often lose their way in their digital transformation attempts.
Nitin brings in this book his 25+ years of experience in leadership roles in world-class firms like Mckinsey and Fidelity and Digital natives like Flipkart and Incedo. He presents compelling insights and practical examples and answers key questions on how enterprises can win in the Digital Age:
• Why do firms fail at digital transformation?
• How are the rules of business changing in the digital age? What disruptive opportunities does digital present in various industries?
• How to best leverage the potential of digital technologies like AI and the Cloud?
• How do organizational capabilities and culture need to change?
• What new skills do leaders and young professionals need to build?
Nitin brings clarity to the transformation process, breaking it down into seven building blocks and presenting how best to master them.
The book is a practitioner’s guide for people across all age groups – students, young professionals, experienced professionals, senior executives on how they can realize the amazing opportunities the digital age offers them and achieve their true potential at work and in personal life.

    Powerhouse of Insights
“Winning In The Digital Age” does an excellent job of bringing together all the various ideas and concepts that have been in development and practice over last few decades, across industries and economy sectors, into an exhaustive and still easily fathomable framework. As a result of it, you as a digital practitioner, get a great anchor into the vast topic that Digital Transformation is, and then build on your understanding of the topic. To me, the power of the book is 2-fold:+ The 7 building blocks that are discussed in the book explain the Why, What and How of Digital Transformation in a manner that that everyone reading the book, from a university student to a CXO, would get something from it that can be implemented on ground the very same day!+ The leadership lessons, subtly interspersed through the book, provide a ringside view of a massive transformation that is underway in all walks of human life and give useful clues on how to navigate the same! And the most endearing quality of the book, that has appealed to me personally, is that the book talks to you. It is, as if Nitin is sitting in front of a small audience and sharing his deep thoughts in a very contemplative manner. The language of the book is very simple, the messages are direct, and the insights and perspectives are deep.I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand the complex topic of Digital Transformation – what are the forces at play, how to navigate the complex web of so many possible initiatives, where to start the journey, how to the keep the momentum, how to build and motivate the team that not only delivers against the ever-evolving priorities but shapes the future!

Provides the big picture and deep dives into all the critical aspects of digital transformation
The book demystifies everything related to digital transformation very well—it provides the big picture and deep dives into all critical aspects for successfully driving it. Nitin’s unique combination of experiences with McKinsey, Fidelity, Flipkart, and now Incedo provides a very compelling view of the digital world. These experiences are directly applicable in many of the situations where enterprises are challenged in their digital journeys and can resort to success recipes which Nitin has laid out very well. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the new edition and the chapter on India: A New Superpower; highly recommend this book to all business leaders and young professionals!

One business book you absolutely need to read
What does it take for a business to thrive in the digital age? What is it like for a legacy organization to adopt a complete digital transformation? What are the challenges digital natives face? These are some of the many questions the book ‘Winning in the Digital Age’ answers. The author, Nitin Seth is the CEO of Incedo Inc., a company that helps drive #digitaltransformation (from strategy to execution) for their clients. Nitin’s decades of experience working to develop digital #strategy for clients at McKinsey & Company, driving strategy for Fidelity Investments and learning new rules of business at Flipkart has helped the shape the book into a Must-Read for anyone who wants to develop a career in digital transformation or leaders who want to make themselves and their teams ready to thrive in the digital age.Seth’s learnings and insights from hands-on experience has been divided into the 7 building blocks for successfully executing digital transformations in organizations. Each of these blocks talk about different dimensions that one needs to consider while building themselves and their organizations to adopt digital strategy. While most organizations try to embed technology in their existing functions, Seth stresses how the rules of business have changed in the VUCA world and end-to-end digital revamp is impossible without understanding these new rules. It includes the changing needs of customers, data explosion and the speed with which new products and services are being created and going obsolete. When we talk about digital technologies such as cloud, blockchain, AI, etc. we need to be mindful that these are interdependent technologies. Designing CX, improving operational efficiencies, delving into new distribution channels are some areas where digital technologies can make a positive impact. Seth has dedicated one entire block to talk about the areas that can be digitally transformed using technology assets.Seth also comments on the changing mindset of customers and how the millennials and Gen Z customers are more digitally minded now. While segmentation of customers was what marketers would do previously to determine the value offered, the era is slowly closing on to personalization for customers. This puts a greater stress on handling data and importance of data analytics and AI measurable increase. It is Seth’s writing style that totally stands out for me. The book reads out like an interesting TED talk and is extremely effective in helping you create a vision in your head. Instead of giving you a plan for stepping into digital transformation, Seth shows you the way that will help you create your own custom plan. The book is full of inspiring and eye-opening anecdotes that will help you rethink your strategy. If there is one Business non-fiction you want to read this month, let it be ‘Winning in the Digital Age’ because it will definitely set you in the right track towards making your mark in the digital era.

Amazing set of framework and way to think about digital business
Nitin is very good in simplifying complex concepts and frameworks and bring to bear his vast business knowledge to explain to his readers what it takes to build and win digital businesses. He has a sharp view of sources of competetivess/distinctiveness and juxtaposes it with understanding of digital tech trends which is articulated very well in the book

I have read a few books on Digital but this is the only one that truly covers all aspects of Digital & is as detailed as it can get. What got me excited was detailed coverage of often not talked about but very important topics of organizational alignment, leadership & talent in addition to the usual suspects Technology & Customer centricity. The book has a whole chapter on Global Delivery Model in the context of digital transformation, a first I have come across. Nitin Seth has done a phenomenal job tying it all together. What this means is that the book has new insights to offer to everyone out there, irrespective of their background or function they currently work in. The frameworks in the book equips each one to have a more effective conversation with colleagues & friends across functions & roles in the digital age, and help get a new perspective to do their own jobs better. The topics are covered in depth that gets you thinking & references to real life experiences make the book so much more appealing.Bottom line is that the book is a reference to not only help build a strategy for your business but also a guide for flawless execution.

You will find tons of book on Digital transformation. Most of them focus on the technology and process aspects. That used to be generally true in the good old world – no longer. Digital Natives have shown that for Digital transformation to be truly successful “Digital” needs to be underpinning your strategy and day to day execution, not just be one of the levers. Nitin’s book addresses this in detail – what true transformation means and how it extends to deeper aspects like product and service design, org structures, culture, etc. Nitin focuses more on the practical aspects than just the theory of digital transformation. Further, he then contextualizes it for specific industries delving deeper into how digital transformation is playing out for verticals like Financial Services, Telecom, Life sciences, etc. This book is essential reading for a wide range of people – from executives in organizations to students wanting to learn how Digital is changing business and life around us

Being a practitioner in the field of digital transformation for several years, I started reading this book with typical “there is nothing new” kind of mindset. But after reading it, I would like to confess that I did not knew many things and it was a great learning experience. This book is a fantastic guide to understand the complexities and challenges of digital transformation in today’s enterprises.I strongly recommend this book and especially liked Section 5 and 6 that addresses organizational transformation necessary to win in the digital age along with focus on managing duality for today’s leaders.Great read!
